PLEASE READ THE BULLETIN TWO AND THIS BULLETIN
Dear participant of LISHEP 2006. We are very happy with the number of people registered on the School and in the Workshop. We never had such a tight budget as we do now, for previous LISHEP meetings.
If we had the possibility to support more colleagues from Latin America and Brazil we would achieve certainly to 150 participants.
LISHEP2006 is
dedicated to
the studies of Collider Physics, including Physics, Detectors, and Computing for the new Experiments at the LHC.
We will have
talks by
experts and leaders of the main Experiments and Technologies on High Energy
Physics. We consider that the Talk of Future Accelerators, Detectors and Experiments it is very important for physicists that have to keepin mind the trends of the area for the future.
Another important point is the Panel
dedicated to
Latin America
, and current Collider experiments.
There will be
approximately 100
participants
from 15
countries.

IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED TO READ THE BULLETIN TWO AND THIS WELCOME BULLETIN WITH THE NEWS. THIS IS IN PRINCIPLE THE LAST COMMUNICATION UP TO START OF THE SESSIONS NEXT 27 OF MARCH.
Airport
instructions are generally presented on board of your aircraft. Rio arrival procedures are very standard. As
soon as you
arrive you will go through passport control with separate counters for
Brazilian
and non-Brazilian citizens.
Be
aware that, depending on your nationality, you MAY NEED A VISA to be
admitted to Brazil.
If you have a TOURIST VISA, please remember to check TOURISM in the
appropriate
space of the admission form.
If you have
any problem feel free to call us. On the
main page of LISHEP2004,
you find some useful
phone
numbers. Do not forget to exchange some money to Reais.
The airport is a convenient place to do that.

Reaching your destination |
See bulletin #2 for transport from the airpor. There are several options.
We have many options. For those arriving directly for Session C: you will receive an e-mail from Grand Operator asking you to inform them about your arrival, as they want to be sure that you are on the list for the bus that will take you to the Hotel Pierre in Itacuruca. For safety reasons, please also inform us about your arrival.
For those already in Rio de Janeiro: the bus for Itacuruca will be in front of the door
of the Hotel Gloria at 11:00 am. As we will have lunch at the Hotel Pierre, we will
be on time, leaving exactly at 11:00 am. The bus will have the poster of the Workshop and
a guide waiting for you, with your name on the list.
Cariocas (Rio
de Janeiro
natives) dress rather
casually, shorts and sandals are frequently seen on the streets.
It
is summer! Expect temperatures between 25 C (77 F) and 40 C (104 F).
Be
cautious with the sun and do not forget a sun block lotion before
going to the beach. Avoid wearing jewelry or expensive items.
All participants are requested to Register on the LISHEP 2006 webpage. For those that will use the "Day USE" of the Hotel Pierre have to communicate the Hotel and in arriving go to Desk of the Hotel and the Workshop. (This will avoid problems with unknow persons.)
If
you need help to confirm your return flight,
please ask Ms.Luciana or Ms. Rosemonde on
the
Registration Desk.
The School Dinner will be held on Wednesday 29th at 8:30 PM at Churrascaria Porcão Rio's. This dinner is included in your registration fee (no drinks and dessert are included).
Those exempted of the registration fee, please contact the Secretariat ASAP,as in this case, you will have to pay. As we already said, unfortunately we do not have enough
funds to cover all the participants as it is our desire.
Please do
not forget to
register for the School Dinner.
The Workshop dinner is included for all participants staying at the Hotel Pierre.

Computer Network Facility |
A
common computer account will be available for the participants. You
will have internet access through this account as well as wireless
network
access in the computer room and the conference room.
Please
make your slides available before the school and the workshop in PDF, PS,
TEX, HTML, PPT
format or
by providing a web link. It will be possible to use your laptop for
your
presentation. However, please bring a copy of your slides just in case
of
unexpected problems.
Pendrive will be welcome.
All talks and Lectures will be transmitted by VRVS, in the FOG Virtual Room for the
Session B, between March 27 till April 7.
Anyone can attend all talks and Lectures and ask questions.

Participants of Session B: the tourism agency is organizing a Tour in Rio (not covered
by the School). It will be announced at the Opening session and you can get options
and prices at the registration desk.
