Bulletin One

LISHEP2006 - INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
ON HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS
Rio de Janeiro, March 26 to April 7, 2006
SESSION B: Advanced School on Collider Physics
SESSION C: Workshop on Collider Physics

LISHEP2006 will present two Sessions
The Session B - Advanced School on Collider Physics - March 26 - 31 2006
This session, devoted mainly to graduate students, aims to give an overview of the Fundamentals of Physics on Collider. The Detectors of LHC will start taking data in 2007 and our students should have some working knowledge of the new experiments (ATLAS, ALICE, LHCb and CMS), Physics, Detectors, software including, Grid expertise. The preliminary program is shown (it will be frequently updated) in our web page http://www.lishep.uerj.br/ .

IMPORTANT NOTE

The session B will be held at UERJ in the Institute of Physics, in Auditorium 11. This will make possible the participation of large number of local students. Any doubt please send a message to our secretariat. Participants of session B from outside of Rio de Janeiro, please make your hotel reservation for the period of the school. We will soon announce the suggested hotel.

To complement this session, we will have

The Session C - Workshop on Collider Physics - April 3 - 7 2006
This Session is composed by a serie of subsessions to present the current situation on colliders, results and preparation of the next round of run at LHC. Please see the preliminary program in the http://www.lishep.uerj.br/

This is the first time that we will do LISHEP in a Hotel. We chose Hotel Pierre http://www.hotelpierre.com.br/newsite/en/index.html because it is a nice place, the interaction among the participants can be bigger, and it is cheaper than to do in Rio. The general format of the School and the Workshop will be:
Morning and Afternoon: 50' talk followed by 10' for discussion, several 20-30 presentations. All talk and presentations will be by invitation only.

TOPICS

All lectures and talks were programmed as a consequence of the interaction with our International Advisor Committee. These lectures and talks intend to give a good idea about the physics on Colliders in the current and in the near future.

The topics of Session B are:

Acelerator Physics
Supersymetry
Detectors for Colliders
Diffraction on Colliders
Collider Physics
CP-Violation
Models of Symmetry Breaking on St.M. and Beyond
New Phenomena
Electroweeak + Higgs
Neutrino Physics from Colliders
QCD
Monte Carlo
Using GRID with: FAMOS + OSCAR + GEANT4
Technology Tranfer
General Software of CMS/LHC/CERN

For Session C the topics are:

SESSIONS
TALKS
Tevatron Fermilab Present and Future Plans
LHC-Detectors DESY
LHC - Physics ALICE
Diffraction LHCb
QCD ATLAS
  CMS
  Beijing Lab
  Detectors for Colliders
  Astroparticle and Cosmology
  Quark Gluon Plasma
  New Physics
  Grid Computing
PANELS
Future Accelerators – Physics/Comparisons/ILC,SLHC Latin American HEP

INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE And THE LOCAL COMMITTEE are on the web page

PARTICIPANTS
A strong participation of physicists, computing researchers, students from all over the world is encouraged. We would like to give the opportunity to the young researchers, students, to get in contact with lecturers, speakers, experts on colliders since they will be the future collaborators and will develop together the future detectors and experiments. Then, please help us to get success in this school/workshop.
