INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ON HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS

General Information about the Two Sessions:

The IX LISHEP – International School on High Energy Physics (LISHEP2009) will be from 12 to 23 January 2009.

Each year, a central topic is chosen, in order to offer to the students and professionals in the area a broad overview, updated and improved. It is expected that students will, mainly from various regions of Brazil and Latin American countries.
This year we will have two sessions:

Session A
The session - Dedicated to the high school teachers - 12 to January 16, 2009
This is targeted to high school teachers, students and journalists. It will be given scientific mini-courses, lectures and workshops with focus in the area of High Energy Physics, with the objective of putting in contact teachers and researchers in the field and provide information on current topics of international and scientific interest.

Session C
Forward Workshop on Physics, Exotica and Associated Technologies 19 to January 23, 2009
This session will have traditional format of presentations and review talks of the core topics of the workshop by experts from different countries and Brazil. This year we will have a session of presentation of works of a master's and doctoral students.
Our estimate of the number of participants, based on the average of previous schools, is 100 to 150. We are in the process of organization, inviting the teachers and awaiting the answers, for this reason.

During the LISHEP, we encourage the scientific exchange between domestic and foreign researchers, contributing to the strengthening of national and international Collaboration.
This event has had a major importance for High Energy Physics of Brazil, to review current topics and bring to Brazil a range of specialists in the context of high Energy Physics.
The program will consist of the following format around, even without names and without the specific topics to be defined by the International Advisory Committee.
